Fishing the Grand Haven Channel
May 11, 17, 18 & 24

Pursuing A Dream Foundation is partnering with Wheelin' Sportsmen and hosting an event in Grand Haven with disabled children ages kindergarten through 12th grade from Grand Haven Public Schools. Over a span of 4 days, Pursuing A Dream Foundation and Wheelin' Sportsmen will be taking approximately 280 students fishing in the Grand Haven Channel.

How can you help? We are looking for volunteers to help the kids bait the hooks, cast the lines, remove the fish and anything else to help make the day memorable. There are four days that we could use your help; you can choose only one day or help on all four days. Each day will be a different age group of kids with various disabilities. The kids will arrive on buses at the channel just after 9:00 in the morning and will have a parent or guardian there to get them off the bus. At that point, we will assign volunteers to the kids and give them their fishing poles and gear. The kids will be able to fish until 11:15. Before loading the buses to head back to school, everyone will gather together for a group photo. The buses are to be loaded by 11:45 so the kids can be back to school by noon. All the volunteers are allowed to leave once the buses have left and everything is picked up.

If this sounds like something you would like to participate in, please fill out the volunteer form or contact either of the following people:
