Our Story
The journey began when Dave and Jane Owen met Kirk Thomas, an avid hunter and fisherman. After losing the use of his legs in a hunting accident, Kirk dedicated his life to ensuring that people, no matter what their limitations, could have the opportunity to enjoy outdoor sports and recreation. He accomplished this by sponsoring a series of events featuring assisted hunting, fishing, and sport shooting.

Now a team, Dave, Jane, and Kirk have formed Outdoors Without Limits, a recreational outreach program that gives everyone the chance to enjoy outdoor adventures, regardless of his or her limitations.

Pursuing A Dream is a non-profit 501-C3 organization dedicated to providing opportunities for the physically and mentally disabled to achieve dreams in the outdoors.

After years of challenging stereotypes and managing fundraising events to support the needs of disabled people in West Michigan, Pursuing A Dream founders Dave and Jane Owen decided to take their mission national. They’ve joined forces with original Wheelin’ America Founder Kirk Thomas to launch a new outdoor recreation outreach program: Outdoors Without Limits.
